M.D. Program Student Financial Services
The M.D. Program Office of Student Financial Services helps students to obtain resources to fund their educational expenses while attending UCF College of Medicine. The office provides counseling to students including: applying for financial assistance; budgeting and money management; debt management; alternative financing options; and any individual financial concerns that they might have. We are dedicated to assisting students in meeting their individual needs and helping them to reach their educational goals.
All students admitted to the Charter Class will be awarded a $40,000 per year scholarship for all for years. This will cover tuition, fees, books and supplies, and conservative living expences. However, it is still recommended that all students entering Fall 2009 apply for financial assistance using the 2009-2010 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). It allows for Title IV funding (Stafford Loans) for students who lack resources to cover health insurance and disability insurance, which the scholarship does not cover. Unplanned situations can occur and if a student files a FAFSA form, there are more financial options.
The 2009-2010 FAFSA is available after January 1, 2009. If the student filed a 2008-2009 FAFSA, the Renewal FAFSA for 2009-2010 can be easily submitted at www.fafsa.ed.gov. List the University of Central Florida (Title IV Code: 003954) as a school of choice and note that the student anticipates attendance in the M.D. program.
After the processed FAFSA results are received from the U.S. Department of Education, additional information may be requested to allow for verification of eligibility – such as the student’s 2008 signed federal tax return. Submit the FAFSA by March 1, 2009, even if acceptance into the M.D. program at COM is not known by that date.Contact Information
