Scholarship Program

UCF has made medical college history. Every member of our Charter Class will receive a full scholarship, including tuition and modest living expenses for his or her entire four years at the school. The Charter Scholarship program has empowered UCF to admit an entering class of true distinction.

The Challenge Continues

The College of Medicine is looking to maintain this momentum. For succeeding classes, we will need to compete with nationally recognized medical schools for the best and the brightest students. In addition to offering excellence in academic medicine, we must maintain strong incentives for students to choose UCF.

The prospect of graduating from medical school with little or no debt means our students will be able to focus all of their energy in pursuit of their career goals. Unburdened by large debts, our students will be free to dream big and turn those dreams into outstanding medical practice and research.

The Need

We are encouraging contributions from donors who wish to continue our culture of providing scholarships for deserving students into the second class of the M.D. Program. You can make the important commitment to support a single student for one to four years-tuition only or tuition and living expenses. There is also the option of endowing a scholarship that can live on in perpetuity, helping an untold number of students and their future patients.

Donor Involvement

As a donor to the scholarship program, you will have many opportunities to be involved in the major events in the students' lives as they progress through medical school. A few examples of involvement include the inaugural celebrations of the college's new life, convocation ceremonies and informal meetings with students.

Another prominent event is the White Coat Ceremony-where the class is reminded of the privilege and responsibility that comes with the goal they have before them. Students are presented with a white coat as a symbol both of their journey to become a physician and of the trust that the community has in them. Each donor of a full tuition scholarship will have the honor of "coating" his or her student at the ceremony.
