Project Title: Practicing Relapse Prevention in Artificial Reality Environments [PREPARE]: A Game-Based Therapy Maintenance Tool.
Total Project Funding: $200,000 (2 years)
Description: This is part of a nationwide program of 12 projects supported in the first round of funding from Health Games Research, a national program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Health Games Research was established to strengthen the evidence base related to the development and use of games to achieve desirable health outcomes. Investigators will develop role-playing video games designed to enable people who are diagnosed with alcohol abuse or dependence (age 18 to 65) to practice skills that can help them prevent real-world relapses into alcoholism and dependency.
